PURPOSE:
Award Professional Services Agreement 500432 (Design) for the Lake Havasu Avenue & Mesquite Avenue Paving Rehabilitation Project in accordance with City Code Sections 3.10.010.2 (A.R.S. Title 34) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
This project was rated highly in the 2022 Pavement Priority Rating. The City Council allocated funding to the Highway User Revenue Fund (HURF) for more paving of our streets. This project is the result of a portion of that allocation. Watermains requiring replacement will be designed utilizing the Water Utility Fund.
The Engineering Division is proposing to utilize Kimley-Horn and Associates for the preparation of plans and specifications for this project. The Lake Havasu Avenue & Mesquite Avenue Paving Rehabilitation Project is comprised of Lake Havasu Avenue, from Willow Avenue to Mesquite Avenue, and Mesquite Avenue, from Lake Havasu Avenue to Acoma Boulevard.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This project enhances the quality of our streets in the Medical Office, Commercial and Hospital corridor in the City along Mesquite Avenue.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for Street Improvements design are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 CIP budget using HURF funds in the amount of $49,700.
Funds for Water Improvements design are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 CIP budget using Water Funds in the amount of $125,315.

SUGGESTED MOTION:Recommended Action
I move to award the Agreement for Professional Services for the Lake Havasu Avenue & Mesquite Avenue Paving Rehabilitation Project to Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc., in the amount of $175,015, and authorize the City Manager to execute this Agreement on behalf of the City.
