PURPOSE:
To adopt a resolution ratifying the execution of an Airport Development Reimbursable Grant Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation, Multimodal, Planning Division Aeronautics Group, for the purpose of aiding in financing runway safety area improvements.
BACKGROUND:
The Multimodal Planning Division Aeronautics Group of the Arizona Department of Transportation provides funding through grants to assist local communities in maintaining and improving the structures of public airports. This grant is for use in defraying the City’s share of the costs of the Runway Safety Area Improvements Project; City’s Capital Improvement Program Project Name: Runway Safety Area (RSA) Improvements and City’s Project No. 104012) at the Lake Havasu Municipal Airport.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Sustainable and safe infrastructure for aeronautical travel for travelers utilizing the City’s municipal airport.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total project cost is $1,300,000 (State: $1,170,00, City: $130,000). Funds are budgeted and allocated for this project in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 Capital Improvement Plan using funds from the Airport Fund.

I move to adopt Resolution No. 24-3728 ratifying the execution of an Airport Development Reimbursable Grant Agreement with the Arizona Department of Transportation, Multimodal, Planning Division Aeronautics Group, for the purpose of aiding in financing runway safety area improvements and take all steps necessary to implement and complete the activities funded and required by the grant, subject to review and approval by the City Attorney.
