PURPOSE:
To approve cooperative purchase of one (1) backhoe in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.3(A)(1).
BACKGROUND:
The Lake Havasu City Vehicle Maintenance Section is requesting approval of the purchase of a backhoe using Cooperative Contract 2686 and OMNIA Partners City of Tucson, Lead Procurement Agency contract number 161534, and Empire Southwest LLC, dba Empire Machinery as the authorized Caterpillar dealer.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Providing a cost-effective and reliable fleet of vehicles and equipment allows Lake Havasu City departments and divisions to meet their goals of providing efficient and effective services, utilities and programs for the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds of $160,000 are available in the Wastewater Fund. Purchase includes Caterpillar Power Train plus Hydraulic Warranty for 3 years or 5,000 hours whichever comes first.
