Award Task Order Agreement No. 1 to the Master Professional Services Agreement with Narasiman Consulting Services, Inc., for the Booster Station 5A Upgrades Project (Hayder Bajjalan)

CIP-Irrigation and Drainage District Fund - (Water Utility Fund)

 

PURPOSE:

Award Task Order Agreement No. 1 to the Master Professional Services Agreement 500189 with Narasiman Consulting Services, Inc. (NCS) for the Booster Station 5A Upgrades Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040.

 

BACKGROUND:

Upgrading the existing Booster Station 5A is essential to produce reliable and safe water for the community. This project entails:

                     New booster pumps with variable frequency drives (VFDs).

                     New valves, piping for the new pump installation.

                     Pump controls and instruments.

                     Replace the existing electrical and SCADA systems with new systems including a new emergency generator and automatic transfer switch (ATS).

                     Replace the existing hydropneumatic tank with two new tanks.

 

Public Works negotiated a fee of $138,770, with NCS for these Professional Services, which we feel is fair and reasonable.

 

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

Continued planning, design and construction of improvements to Booster Station 5A maintains the reliability and operability supporting the existing water demand for City residents, and provides safe drinking water for the community.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding in the amount of $138,770 is budgeted and available in the Capital Improvement Plan with the use of Water Utility Funds (Irrigation and Drainage District Fund).

I move to award Task Order Agreement No. 1 to the Master Professional Services Agreement with Narasiman Consulting Services, Inc. for the Booster Station 5A Upgrade Project in the amount of $138,770.
