Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

Grant

PURPOSE:

Make it known that Lake Havasu City has a Fair Housing Policy and that the community has a commitment to the principles of Fair Housing.

BACKGROUND:

As a requirement of receiving Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), State Special Projects Funds (SSP), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), or Housing Trust Funds, Lake Havasu City must adopt a resolution that certifies that our local government will continue to affirmatively further fair housing. This resolution must be adopted on an annual basis.

As April is designated as Fair Housing Month, in addition to the adoption of this resolution by City Council, staff will be publicizing Fair Housing information in the Today’s News-Herald to assist in affirmatively furthering fair housing principles. These actions will ensure that Lake Havasu City meets the requirements to comply with Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulations.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The adoption of this resolution publicizes the community’s commitment to fair housing.  It also certifies that our local government will continue to affirmatively further fair housing principles.

FISCAL IMPACT:
