PURPOSE:

To adopt a resolution approving the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between Lake Havasu City, the City of Kingman, Bullhead City, and Mohave County Sheriff’s Office regarding administration of the Arizona 911 Grant Program.

BACKGROUND:

The Arizona Department of Administration, Grants and Federal Resources (ADOA-GFR) has assumed responsibility for the functions of the Arizona State 911 Office.  The ADOA-GFR initiated a grant process for Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) throughout Arizona, referred to as the Arizona 911 Grant Program, to assist PSAPs in performing activities related to implementation and operation of their respective emergency telecommunication systems through the distribution of funds from the emergency telecommunication services revolving fund.

The PSAP managers from agencies in Mohave County desire to enter into this IGA to enable the System Administrator duties related to application, reimbursement, and reporting for the Arizona 911 Grant Program to be rotated between the participating agencies on a two (2) year term.  Mohave County will continue to act as the Fiduciary to perform bill payment administration functions.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

Transferring of the System Administrator duties on a biannual basis between PSAPs will allow for an equitable distribution of the responsibilities for all agencies in Mohave County.

FISCAL IMPACT:
