PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Professional Services (Design) for the Avalon Drain #2 Stabilization Improvements in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. DR1020)
BACKGROUND:
In September of 2015, an analysis and risk ranking was conducted of the washes in Lake Havasu City. Each wash was ranked according to risk of slope failure. Avalon Drain #2 was ranked the third highest risk and is next in line for improvement.
Staff has negotiated a fee of $149,945 with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for processional services, which we feel is fair and reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This project will provide the design of critical bank repair and slope stabilization improvements to Avalon Drain between Avalon Avenue and Angler Drive.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Flood Control Fund as part of the Capital Improvement Plan for Avalon Drain DR1020 (Account # 526-4110-421.6202).
