PURPOSE:
Award Bid for the 2019 Water Main Replacement Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. WT7460)
BACKGROUND:
On September 25, 2019, sealed bids were opened for the project and two (2) bids were received in response. The two responsive bidders were:
Tri-Suns Engineering - $1,330,159
Degan Construction - $3,043,820
Totals shown include Base Bid (Original Proposed) and Additive Alternate (Additional Water Main Added).
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The replacement of water mains on the proposed roads will provide for more efficient and reliable potable water delivery to the community now and into the future.
Water mains are critical pieces of the systems infrastructure. Completion of this project is crucial to continue the reliable service of potable water to the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient budget is available in the Fiscal Year 2019-20 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for the 2019 Water Main Replacement Project No. WT7460. This CIP project is funded with Irrigation and Drainage District funds.
