PURPOSE:

Award Bid for the Water Booster Station 1C Replacement and Tank Rehabilitation Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No.’s WT7440 & WT7480)

 

BACKGROUND:

On April 17, 2019 sealed bids were opened for the project and six (6) bids were received in response.  The six responsive bidders were:

 

Technology Construction -                      $3,479,575.00

Schofield Construction -                      $3,480,815.00

Kear Civil Corporation -                      $3,604,205.00

Strategic Construction -                      $3,779,275.00

Hunter Contracting -                                           $4,347,006.00

Jonovich Companies Inc -                      $4,579,700.90

 

Totals shown include Bid Schedule A (Booster Station), Schedule B (Tank Rehabilitation), Schedule D (Welded Steel Connections)

 

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The booster station replacement will provide for more efficient and reliable potable water delivery to the community now and into the future. Tank rehabilitation provides for safety and industry standard updates, as well as new internal and external coatings.

 

Water tanks and booster stations are both critical pieces of the systems infrastructure. Completion of this project is crucial to continue the reliable service of potable water to the community.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Sufficient budget is available in both the 2017 Tank & Booster Station Improvements Project No. WT7440 in the amount of $2,619,505 and the 2019 Tank & Booster Station Improvements Project No. WT7480 in the amount of $860,070.
