PURPOSE:
To introduce an ordinance to amend Lake Havasu City Code Chapter 11.06, Parks and Recreation.
BACKGROUND:
At the City Council Planning Session on January 24, 2019, City staff sought direction from the City Council regarding agenda item requests. City Code Chapter 2.04 was amended to include a new section 2.04.610, General, relating to board requests. With that change, revisions to Chapter 11.06 are also necessary as well as some additional clean-up items, including:
1) Updating Community Services Department to Parks and Recreation Department throughout the Chapter.
2) Removing § 11.06.021 “Appointment of Student Body Member” in its entirety. Student Body Members are appointed through the same application process as other board members.
3) Removing § 11.06.070(A)(3) regarding requests for agenda items, which is now covered under § 2.04.610.

Clear and up-to-date City Code provisions promote efficient and effective operations.
