Approve Cooperative Purchase Agreement with Econolite Control Products, Inc., for Traffic Signal Equipment Required for the Lake Havasu Avenue Reconstruction Project (Jeffrey Herb)

PURPOSE:

Approve cooperative purchase agreement and expenditure over $50,000 for Fiscal Year 2018-19 with Econolite Control Products, Inc. in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.5(A)(1).

 

BACKGROUND:

Econolite Control Products, Inc., manufactures and sells traffic signal equipment that is compatible with equipment that the city currently uses. Three new traffic signal cabinets are needed for the Lake Havasu Avenue Reconstruction Project to improve functionality of the three existing traffic signals.  The cost for these traffic signal cabinets is $54,485.82. 

 

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The Lake Havasu Avenue Reconstruction Project will provide safety enhancements and upgrade existing infrastructure including three traffic signals along Lake Havasu Avenue between Swanson Avenue and Mesquite Avenue.  Utilizing the cooperative purchase agreement for this purchase provides a greater efficiency and economy through leveraged pricing. 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Sufficient funds are available in the HURF (Lake Havasu Avenue Reconstruction Project No. ST3270, Account 221-5110-403.62-04).
