PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Engineering Services for the 2019 Water Main Replacement Project, in accordance with City Code § 3.10.040. (Project No. WT7460)
BACKGROUND:
An annual review process is utilized by Lake Havasu City staff to identify water main replacements in areas of the City based upon the age of the pipe, material, diameter, and history of breaks. Approximately 15,000 LF of water main was identified for replacement for this upcoming project.
In September 2018, the Engineering Division solicited for an engineering firm to provide design services related to water main replacements. Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. were selected to provide these services. Lake Havasu City staff has negotiated a fee of $125,000 with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. for Engineering Services, which we feel is fair and reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Enhance reliability of water service, fire protection, water pressure and volume to citizens in affected areas. Additionally, this process will reduce yearly operating costs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Irrigation and Drainage District Fund (WT7460 Water Main Replacement Project, Account No. 521-4110-421.62-02).
