PURPOSE:
To approve an agreement between Lake Havasu City and the Arizona State Parks Ranger Division to establish responsibilities for entry of records into the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System.
BACKGROUND:
The National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) provide accurate and timely criminal justice information to all criminal justice agencies. The use of the NCIC and ACJIS systems requires agencies to enter records into the system as soon as possible, assure that hit confirmation is available 24 hours a day, and provide a positive or negative confirmation to any agency requesting such in a specified timeframe. Due to the fact that the Arizona State Parks Ranger Division is a non-terminal/non-24-hour agency, this agreement allows the Lake Havasu City Police Department to perform these duties on their behalf to meet NCIC and ACJIS requirements.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This agreement allows Lake Havasu City Police Department to assist the Arizona State Parks Ranger Division in meeting the requirements of NCIC and ACJIS.

I move to adopt Resolution No. 18-3240 approving the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Holder of Record Agreement with the Arizona State Parks Ranger Division and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City.
