PURPOSE:
To approve an agreement allowing access to information from the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) to receive criminal history and criminal justice information for noncriminal purposes.
BACKGROUND:
The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) is the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Criminal Justice Information Services Systems Agency in Arizona. The DPS is responsible for collecting, storing, and disseminating Arizona criminal history and criminal justice information. This Noncriminal Justice User Agreement allows the Lake Havasu City Police Department to receive criminal history and/or criminal justice information via the non-fingerprint-based personal identifier submission process established by the DPS and the applicant fingerprint card process.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This agreement is necessary to obtain pertinent criminal history information regarding prospective licensees (peddler permit, liquor license, etc.), employees, contracted employees, and volunteers for the Lake Havasu City Police Department.

I move to adopt Resolution No. 18-3241 approving the Noncriminal Justice User Agreement with the Arizona Department of Public Safety and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement on behalf of the City.
