PURPOSE:
To make a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing, regarding a renewal of an off-track pari-mutuel wagering license at Quality Inn & Suites, 271 Lake Havasu Avenue South.
BACKGROUND:
Turf Paradise, applicant, submitted a letter of request for an off-track pari-mutuel wagering license renewal at Quality Inn & Suites, located at 271 Lake Havasu Avenue South. Turf Paradise’s Permit to Operate Additional Wagering Facilities with the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing, is valid from June 1, 2018, through May 31, 2021; therefore, Turf Paradise is requesting the term of the license for Quality Inn & Suites be valid until May 31, 2021.
Council previously approved an off-track pari-mutuel wagering license to Turf Paradise for Quality Inn & Suites from June 15, 2015, through May 31, 2018.
This request was forwarded to the Police Department, Community Services Department, and Administrative Services Department, and no objections were received.
