PURPOSE:
To renew the Base Hospital Agreement in order to maintain medical direction for emergency medical services (EMS) as it relates to basic and advanced EMS protocols, procedures, and standards between Havasu Regional Medical Center (HRMC) and the Lake Havasu City Fire Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Arizona Department of Health Services requires the Lake Havasu City Fire Department to maintain medical direction as it relates to EMS services. This Base Hospital Agreement with HRMC establishes the basic oversight of Advanced Life Support (ALS) services conducted by the Paramedics and Basic Life Support (BLS) services provided by the Emergency Medical Technicians. This is a periodic update and renewal of a long-standing Agreement. The previous Agreement was dated July 28, 2014.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The Agreement establishes medical direction for the Fire Department in order to provide ALS and BLS services to the community.
