PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Professional Services (Design) for the Havasupai Wash #3 Stabilization Improvements in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. DR1030)
BACKGROUND:
In September of 2015, an analysis and risk ranking was conducted of the washes in Lake Havasu City. Each wash was ranked according to risk of slope failure. Havasupai Wash #3 was ranked the second highest risk and is next in line for improvement.
Staff negotiated a fee of $182,597 with Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. for Professional Services, which we feel is fair and reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This project will provide the design of critical bank repair and slope stabilization improvements to Havasupai Wash between Highway 95 and Aviation Drive.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Avalon Drain DR1020 ($85,000) which will be transferred to DR1030 and expended in FY17-18. The remaining $97,597 balance will be drawn from the budget for Havasupai Wash #3 DR1030 and will be expended in FY18-19. Account # 526-4110-421.62-02.
