SUBJECT:Title

PURPOSE:

To adopt a resolution to amend the Lake Havasu City Amendments to the 2011 National Electrical Code.

BACKGROUND:

Historically Lake Havasu City required buildings to be classified as “Commercial” or “Residential” when applying the provisions of the National Electrical Code. After reviewing modern code cycles the definition has changed to allow residential structures to exceed three stories when it is built with a certain type of construction. Therefore, it is necessary to amend the definition of “Residential” contained in the Lake Havasu City Amendments to the 2011 National Electrical Code to bring the term more in line with the definition contained in the National Electrical Code.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

This will allow multi-family dwelling structures built of Types III, IV, and V construction the ability to install type NM, type NMC, and Type NMS cable when they exceed three stories.

FISCAL IMPACT:
