PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Professional Services (Construction Management) for the Airport Electric Vault Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. AP1480) (FAA AIP No. 3-04-0071-026)
BACKGROUND:
In April of 2016, staff performed a consultant selection process to obtain Airport Engineering and Architectural services. The selection process used by staff was a qualifications based process, which required response to an RFQ. C&S Engineers was chosen by the selection committee to provide engineering and architectural services to the City.
On August 16, 2017, sealed bids were opened for the Airport Electric Vault Project.
Staff has negotiated a fee of $58,041.25 with C&S Engineers for Construction Management Services, which we feel is fair and reasonable.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The Lake Havasu City Airport is a vital economic and transportation hub in our community. It plays a significant role in the local economy as well as bringing in many work-related visitors (military and civilian training).
FAA and ADOT grant funding will be leveraged (95.53%) requiring only a 4.47% contribution from the city for these improvements.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Airport Electric Vault Project, Project No. AP1480, Account No. 551-5608-423.62-03.
