PURPOSE:
Present and discuss the verification of payment to qualified organizations under a special event liquor license.
BACKGROUND:
City staff will present an overview of the laws and state process for special event liquor licenses, a summary of the City’s process for special event liquor licenses, and what was reported from other municipalities as far as their processes for verification of payment to non-profit, charitable organizations under a special event liquor license.
Qualified organizations that may be issued a special event license include political parties; campaign committees supporting a candidate for public office or a ballot measure; organizations formed for a specific civic purpose; fraternal organizations in existence for over five years with a regular membership; and religious organization.
