PURPOSE:
Approve and update expiring lease agreement with River Cities United Way for office space within Fire Station No. 5 located at 145 N. Lake Havasu Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
Since at least 2001, United Way has leased office space within Fire Station No. 5. Last year the lease was updated to reflect the addition of the space that had been occupied by Havasu for Youth, Inc. This lease agreement updates the per square footage charge to account for an inflationary factor based on Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers, West-C Category.
The lease term is limited to one year, in order to convert the use to City office space, when that expansion is needed.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The lease provides River Cities United Way office space at a lower than market cost, allowing the nonprofit to better serve the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The City will receive $5,200.44 in annual lease revenue under the terms of this agreement.
