PURPOSE:
To renew the bid for the Calcium Nitrate Liquid Odor Management Control Program in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.020.12. (B14-WW14-02)
BACKGROUND:
On June 10, 2014, the City Council awarded a bid to Evoqua Water Technologies, LLC. The original bid documents allow the bid to be renewed at the expiration of its term by mutual agreement of both parties.
The renewal may be for a maximum of four (4) additional twelve (12) month periods. This is the third renewal, which will run from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.
The unit price per gallon for Calcium Nitrate is $1.89. This product is taxable. Wastewater anticipates spending approximately $400,000 for FY 17-18.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
These chemicals are utilized at various lift stations throughout the City to control odors.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Appropriations are available in the proposed FY17-18 budget in the Wastewater Chemical and Laboratory Supplies Fund Account 531.4210.422.5214
