Adopt Resolution No. 17-3132 Approving and Authorizing the City Manager to Execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Lake Havasu Unified School District No. 1 for District Events Performed in Conjunction with the City During 2017-22

PURPOSE:

Adopt a resolution approving and authorizing the City Manager to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement with the Lake Havasu Unified School District No. 1 for District Events performed in conjunction with the City during 2017-22.

 

BACKGROUND:

There are several Lake Havasu Unified School District No. 1 (“District”) events and activities that occur annually in conjunction with the City.  Last year the parties piloted a one-year Intergovernmental Agreement establishing a streamlined process for the coordination and completion of these events.  The process established under the current Intergovernmental Agreement proved successful and the parties wish to enter into a five-year agreement continuing the existing process. 

                     

Previously, a separate intergovernmental agreement was prepared for each event.  The types of events may include, but are not limited to, beautification of the City, field trips, mock City Council, and other similar activities.  Previous events include the Day of Service, Arbor Day Event, Field Trips, and the Earth Month Project. 

 

Under the current and proposed Intergovernmental Agreement, all District events are processed and coordinated through the City’s Event Coordinator.

Promotes efficient public partnerships and enhances community enrichment opportunities.
