Adopt Resolution No. 17-3134 Ratifying the Submission of a Grant Application with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for CO Detection Meters

PURPOSE:

Ratify the submission of a grant application with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for CO Detection Meters.

 

BACKGROUND:

The State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) is a grant program administered by the Arizona Department of Homeland Security (AZDOHS).  Together, AZDOHS with state, local, and tribal jurisdictions enhance the State’s efforts to prepare, prevent, and respond to terrorist attacks and other disasters by distributing grant funds.  Submission of the grant application was made on February 17, 2017.

 

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The Arizona Department of Homeland Security grant funding will allow for the purchase of CO Detection Meters.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

Grant funding in the amount of $44,200.  No matching funds are required.

SUGGESTED MOTION:Recommended Action

I move to adopt Resolution No. 17-3134 ratifying the submission of a grant application with the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for CO Detection Meters; and authorize the City Manager to execute subsequent grant agreements, deliver all documents necessary to carry out the terms and intent of the grant, and take all steps necessary to implement the funding required by the grant, subject to necessary review and approval by the City Attorney.
