PURPOSE:
To award bid for the Havasu 280 Infrastructure Construction Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. PR2070)
BACKGROUND:
On July 27, 2016, sealed bids were opened for the project and six bids were received in response. The responsive bidders are as follows:

The base bid of $757,092.50 is $172,573.30 below the Engineer's Estimate.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The mass grading and drainage improvements are the first stage of many improvements to the 280 acres controlled by Lake Havasu City via a Recreation & Public Purpose Lease with the Bureau of Land Management. The grading effort is focused on the proposed roadway that will become the gateway to the Havasu Riviera. The Havasu Riviera is a combination of public and private partnership projects. This roadway will provide access to the anticipated Contact Point State Park, Lake Havasu Ecological-Environmental Learning Center, Botanical Gardens, and the Havasu Riviera Resort Community.
Other improvements to support these facilities and public spaces planned over the next two years will follow as the various components move through the permitting, design, and construction phases. These include signal and lane improvements to SR95, utilities, paving, multi-use path, and landscaping.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Havasu 280 Infrastructure Construction Project, Project No. PR2070, Account No. 351-1840-401.62-04.
