COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
TO: Honorable Mayor and Council
FROM: J. Greg Froslie, P.E. Community Investment Department
SUBJECT:Title
Adopt Resolution No. 16-3097 Approving Ingress and Egress Access Agreement with Arizona State Land Department for Parcel Adjoining Sir Peter Gadsden Boulevard, London Bridge Beach, and Parking Lot
Body
FUNDING SOURCE:
N/A
PURPOSE:
To approve an Ingress and Egress Access Agreement with Arizona State Land Department (ASLD)
BACKGROUND:
In 2003, the City was the successful bidder for a patent consisting of London Bridge Beach, Sir Peter Gadsden Boulevard, and the parking lot. A condition of the sale was to dedicate to the ASLD access to the adjoining State Trust lands. This Ingress and Egress Access Agreement satisfies this condition.
Further, the Island Inn Hotel recently renewed its land lease agreement with the ASLD which included a provision to reduce its area of leased land. This action created a parcel of land that does not have access to a public roadway. The parcel is located adjacent to the City owned land, and ASLD requested the ingress and egress access agreement so that the parcel can go to auction.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Ensuring adequate ingress and egress for future development on The Island.
FISCAL IMPACT:
