PURPOSE:
Award Bid for King’s View Seawall Repair in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No. CI1000)
BACKGROUND:
On August 31, 2016, sealed bids were opened for the project. The three responsive bidders are as follows:
Base Bid
Technology Construction, Inc .
Prescott, AZ $153,181.00
TR-ORR, Inc.
Kingman, AZ $294,077.50
Native Nations Builders LLC
Apache Junction, AZ $331,604.00
Technology Construction, Inc. is the low bidder. The total bid award of $153,181 is $32,181 above the Engineer's Estimate, and $46,189 below budget.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This project will remove and replace a failing portion of the seawall along the Bridgewater Channel in front of the King’s View Condominiums. Completion of the repair is crucial to the protection of the walking path, critical water and sewer infrastructure, and prevents the shoreline from further erosion.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the King’s View Seawall Repair project, Project No. CI1000, Account No. 351-1840-401.62-04.
