PURPOSE:
To adopt the 2016 Mohave County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
BACKGROUND:
In order to comply with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and the implementing regulations set forth in the Federal Register, Mohave County developed and subsequently updated the attached hazard mitigation plan.
This plan was developed in cooperation with the Ft. Mojave Indian Tribe, the Hualapai Tribe, Bullhead City, Colorado City, the City of Kingman, and Lake Havasu City. The plan is routinely reviewed and updated every five years. The plan was originally developed in 2004 and 2005. The original edition was adopted by Lake Havasu City by resolution in 2005. The plan was reviewed and updated in 2010. The 2010 update was adopted by Lake Havasu City by Resolution No. 11-2532 on April 12, 2011.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The plan helps to identify hazards that can impact the community, to assess the vulnerability and risk posed by those hazards, and to assist in the planning process for mitigation of hazards.
