TO:                                          Honorable Mayor and Council

FROM:                     Patrick Cipres, Mobility Supervisor

SUBJECT:Title

Adopt Resolution No. 16-3084 Ratifying Submission of a Grant Application with the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center for the Innovations in Accessible Mobility Program

Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

Grant

PURPOSE:

Adopt resolution ratifying submission of an application to the National Aging and Disability Transportation Center for the Innovations in Accessible Mobility Program in the amount of $50,000.00.

BACKGROUND:

The National Aging and Disability Transportation Center provides funding for the development of program innovations that increases accessible transportation options for older adults and people with disability and maximizes the utilization of Section 5310 and other federal funding investment. If awarded, this grant will provide funding in the current fiscal year for the purchase of dispatching software allowing Havasu Mobility to fully automate the dispatching system.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

If awarded, the grant funding will help increase Havasu Mobility efficiency; therefore increasing our ability to provide services to the community without impacting the General Fund.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The estimated cost of dispatching software is $40,000.00 for the core and an additional $5,000.00 for maintenance and licensing. The $50,000 grant will cover the entire cost including 2-years of the maintenance and licensing. There is no City match required and no budget impact until fiscal year 19/20.
