PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Engineering Services for the Arc Flash Study & Implementation Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No.CI1010)
BACKGROUND:
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the National Electric Code (NEC) require that all electrical cabinets have clear labeling and identification of possible hazards and protection boundaries, as well as the required level of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when working on or around an electrical cabinet. Currently the City's electrical cabinets are not in compliance with either of these regulations.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The project will bring Lake Havasu City into compliance with the NEC, NFPA and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which requires compliance with the referenced regulations. Most importantly, the project will provide City staff that work on or near electrical equipment, information that will significantly improve their safety.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Arc Flash Study and Implementation, Project No. CI1010 in accounts: 110-7130-405.31-11, 521-4110-421.31-11, 533-4210-422.31-11 and 551-5410-423.31-11.
