PURPOSE:
Award Agreement for Engineering Services for the Cypress Park & SARA Park Improvements in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.040. (Project No.FA1020)
BACKGROUND:
The recently completed Sports Field Needs Assessment Study contains recommendations to construct new fields and make improvements to our existing facilities to help accommodate our current demand for athletic fields. This project includes developing Cyprus Park into a soccer complex and implementing the Flex-Fields options at SARA Park as recommended by the Study. Additionally, this project will explore options for a Sports Complex at SARA Park and develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for public discussion.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The Sports Field Needs Assessment identified that Lake Havasu City is well below average when comparing the City’s sports field level of service with competing communities. This project will move the City forward towards satisfying the current demand for sports fields, and ultimately providing the ability to host regional tournaments and the opportunity for positive economic impacts.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Sufficient funds are available in the Fields Needs Improvement Project, Project No. FA1020, Account No. 351-1840-401.62-03.

I move to award the Agreement for Engineering Services for the Cypress Park & SARA Park Improvements to Shepard-Wesnitzer, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $142,880.
