PURPOSE:
To consider a cooperative purchase of a BraunAbility Promaster ADA Low Floor Van utilizing the Arizona State Contract (CTR054848), City’s Cooperative Purchase Agreement 500579, in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.3(A)(1).
BACKGROUND:
The vehicle will enhance the Transit fleet and better meet the needs of our Transit services. This vehicle will replace our 2019 Dodge Caravan that is experiencing increased mechanical concerns and also has met its useful life. Overhaul vehicle maintenance needs are increasing and the need to replace this vehicle with a newer more efficient vehicle is a priority.
We purchased a BraunAbility Promaster ADA Low Floor Van last year and this vehicle is a great fit for transit. The vehicle configuration will be 7 passengers in the rear with one wheelchair position on ramp.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Providing a cost-effective and reliable fleet of vehicles allows Lake Havasu City Transit to meet its goals of providing safe efficient and effective services and programs for the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding for the BraunAbility Promaster ADA Low Floor Van will be funded from Lake Havasu City’s apportionment of 5307 funding. This vehicle cost is $156,627. The federal share will be $128,986 and the local match will be $27,641. This vehicle is in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget to purchase this year. The Transit’s operations and maintenance budget will cover any operating expenditures related to this vehicle.
