PURPOSE:
To consider approving the purchase of a new Flygt submersible pump for the London Bridge Lift Station as outlined in the attached James, Cooke & Hobson, Inc. (JCH) Quote #080326-1EGM, via the City of Chandler’s Cooperative Agreement (Contract 500207), and in accordance with City Code §§ 3.10.010.3(A)(1), 3.10.010.3(A)(21), and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
This pump is currently one of the duty pumps at the London Bridge Lift Station. It is responsible for the conveyance of approximately 1 million gallons of wastewater per day and has been in service for nearly twenty (20) years with multiple refurbishments over its lifespan. It is now approaching the end of its service life.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Replacement of this pump ensures reliable, safe, and effective treatment of Havasu’s wastewater, and underscores the City’s ability to maintain strict regulatory standards allowing us to continue to recharge, replenish, refresh, and reuse this most precious water resource.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds for this purchase are allocated and available in the Wastewater Utility Fund Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget in the amount of $160,334 (plus applicable taxes).
