PURPOSE:
To consider the introduction of an ordinance amending City Code § 2.04.080, Regular Meetings, to revise meeting location and § 2.04.130, Executive Sessions, to clarify meeting type.
BACKGROUND:
With the completion of the new City Council chambers, it is necessary to update City Code § 2.04.080 to revise the address provided for the regular meetings of the City Council. The proposed ordinance revises § 2.04.080 to include the 92 Acoma Boulevard South address.
City Code § 2.04.130 contains a subsection authorizing the City Council to meet in an executive session for legal advice on any matter listed on an agenda in accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes § 38-431.03. The current subsection specifies that this may occur during any regular or special meeting. The proposed ordinance removes this specification and allows the City Council to vote to adjourn into executive session during any City Council meeting.
The proposed changes are indicated in tracked changes on the attached ordinance.
