PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a resolution approving the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, Mohave County Recorder, and Mohave County Elections Department (collectively the “County”) to provide election services.
BACKGROUND:
The City entered into an IGA with Mohave County to provide election services in 2006. The proposed Agreement updates the IGA between the City (“Jurisdiction”) and County for election services and outlines the services provided by the Mohave County Elections Department and Mohave County Recorder, and responsibilities of the Jurisdiction for all consolidated election dates set forth by A.R.S. § 16-204 during the effective term of the Agreement.
If approved, the Agreement would be effective for the 2026 Election and continue until December 31, 2028, and may be extended upon mutual agreement of the parties.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This IGA will continue to provide election services for municipal elections.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Election services fees are set forth in accordance with Mohave County Election/Early Voting Fee Schedule. Funds in the amount of $227,600 are allocated and available in the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget for the 2026 Primary and General Elections.
