PURPOSE:

To consider adopting a resolution appointing one (1) regular member to the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police and Fire Boards due to the upcoming vacancy of a regular member.

 

BACKGROUND:

The City Clerk’s office received two (2) applications requesting consideration for appointment to the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police and Fire Boards. An appointment is necessary to fill the upcoming vacancy of a regular member position.

 

The Application Review Panel conducted interviews for the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System Local Police and Fire Boards on June 11, 2025, and recommends that Phillip Shannon be appointed as a regular member with a term ending June 30, 2029

 

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

Board, committee, and commission members play a pivotal role in providing guidance and direction on numerous issues that develop our community.
