PURPOSE:
To consider an agreement (500605) for Professional Services (Design) for the Island WWTP Filter Upgrade Project in accordance with City Code Section 3.10.010.2 (Technical Registrant) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
The Island WWTP has a design capacity of 2.2 million gallons per day and utilizes a sand filter system to help treat the wastewater. This filter system is experiencing age fatigue and rehabilitation is needed.
Staff has negotiated a fee of $97,308 with NCS Engineers for professional design services.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
This project will improve the City’s ability to treat wastewater which will improve the Island WWTP overall efficiency.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Wastewater Utility Funds in the amount of $97,308 are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Capital Improvement Plan utilizing Wastewater Utility Funds for this project.
