PURPOSE:
Approve cooperative purchase for MotoTRBO Digital Trunked Radio System in accordance with City Code § 3.10.010.5(A)(1).
BACKGROUND:
Creative Communications provided a proposal under the State of Arizona Radio Contract # ADSP013-036883 for the MotoTRBO system, which entails the installation of a digital trunked radio system for use by City staff other than Public Safety and is compatible with the dispatch consoles that are a component of the MCC 7500 Dispatch System. The existing portable and mobile radios being used by non-Public Safety personnel will be upgraded to be compatible with the new 800MHZ P25 Trunked Radio System.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The MotoTRBO Digital Trunked Radio System will allow for radios currently being used by non-Public Safety personnel to be compatible with a new core backbone system, providing for a comprehensive City-wide radio system.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Appropriation in the amount of $44,811.93 is included in the adopted Fiscal Year 2015-16 CIP budget, Project PD1050, account 351-1840-401-6204.
