PURPOSE:
To consider approving the Partnership Agreement with Havasu Freedom Foundation for the public display of a Charles James Kirk Memorial Bench Project.
BACKGROUND:
Havasu Freedom Foundation is organizing and coordinating the creation and location of a memorial bench project in Lake Havasu City to honor and raise awareness for freedom of speech and wishes to partner with the City to publicly display the bench to be known as the Charles James Kirk Memorial Bench Project.
The proposed Partnership Agreement commences on June 9, 2026, and continues indefinitely unless terminated by either Party upon 30 days’ notice. Havasu Freedom Foundation agrees to facilitate the installation of the bench.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The display will raise awareness for freedom of speech.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds are allocated and available in the General Fund to cover the estimated $57.00 per year quote for insurance coverage.
