COUNCIL COMMUNICATION

TO:                                          Honorable Mayor and Council

FROM:                     Heidi Hernandez, Community Grants Specialist

SUBJECT:Title

Action: Resolution No. 25-3797 Ratifying the Submission of a Grant Application to the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), HOME Investment Partnerships Program, For Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation (Heidi Hernandez)

Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

Grant

PURPOSE:

To consider adopting a resolution ratifying the submission of an application for the Arizona Department of Housing, HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding in the amount of $537,850.

BACKGROUND:

The HOME Investment Partnerships Program is the largest federal block grant dedicated to creating and sustaining affordable housing for low-income households.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

Approximately ten eligible, owner-occupied, single-family residents located within City limits will receive an average of $45,000 in HOME Funds. These funds will be used for essential rehabilitation, weatherization, and health and safety upgrades to ensure low-income families remain securely housed.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None, this is an entirely grant funded project. To protect the City and State’s investment, HOME requires a five-year to fifteen-year lien dependent on the amount of funds the homeowner receives.
