PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a resolution ratifying the submission of an application for the Arizona Department of Housing, HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding in the amount of $537,850.
BACKGROUND:
The HOME Investment Partnerships Program is the largest federal block grant dedicated to creating and sustaining affordable housing for low-income households.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Approximately ten eligible, owner-occupied, single-family residents located within City limits will receive an average of $45,000 in HOME Funds. These funds will be used for essential rehabilitation, weatherization, and health and safety upgrades to ensure low-income families remain securely housed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None, this is an entirely grant funded project. To protect the City and State’s investment, HOME requires a five-year to fifteen-year lien dependent on the amount of funds the homeowner receives.

SUGGESTED MOTION:Recommended Action
I move to adopt Resolution No. 25-3797 ratifying the submission of an application in the amount of $537,850 to the State of Arizona, Arizona Department of Housing, for HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding, and authorize the City Manager to execute the grant agreement and take all steps necessary to implement and complete the activities funded and required by the grant, subject to necessary review and approval by the City Attorney.
