FUNDING SOURCE:

General Fund

PURPOSE:

To consider adopting a resolution approving the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the State of Arizona, Department of Transportation, for multi-use path upgrades along State Route 95.

BACKGROUND:

Lake Havasu City maintains the SR 95 multi-use path that runs adjacent to SR 95 from its intersection with McCulloch Boulevard and SR 95 to its intersection with Palo Verde North and SR 95.

Desiring to obtain funding to cover costs for performing pavement preservation, the City worked through the Lake Havasu Metropolitan Planning Organization to establish a Transportation Improvement Project to obtain Federal funds.

The project was selected for funding and now Lake Havasu City is desiring to enter an IGA with the State of Arizona, Department of Transportation, to do so.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

This SR 95 multi-use path is an important part of Lake Havasu City’s overall path system, and this project will allow for pavement preservation of the existing paved path through a cape seal application, therefore extending its useful life.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Funding in the amount of $57,750 for ADOT Project Development Administration Cost and the estimated 5.7% Local Agency match for construction is allocated and available in the 2024-25 annual budget utilizing General Funds authorized for transfer to the Highway User Revenue Fund.
