PURPOSE:
To consider approving the Partnership Agreement with the Military Moms Organization to continue the Military Tribute Banner Program.
BACKGROUND:
The Military Banner Program (“Program”) was established by the Military Moms Organization in Lake Havasu City to recognize and celebrate local residents who are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The Program has successfully operated during its first year, with military banners displayed on poles throughout Wheeler Park. The banners provide a visible and meaningful way for the community to recognize local service members and honor their commitment to our country.
The City will work with the Military Moms Organization to obtain the banners, verify that the information provided on each application is accurate, and receive notification when an individual is no longer an active-duty service member. At that time, the banner will be respectfully retired and presented to the family as a token of appreciation for their loved one’s service.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Lake Havasu City is a proud and patriotic community with many service organizations. This program, in partnership with the Military Moms Organization, will continue that tradition of honoring and supporting our military families.
