Body
FUNDING SOURCE:
N/A
PURPOSE:
To consider adoption of a resolution continuing a pilot parking program for the downtown area.
BACKGROUND:
In 2024, the City was approached by the Downtown Association requesting assistance from the City in addressing certain parking concerns. The City agreed to implement a pilot program. Specifically, the plan includes creating two-hour parking spaces on McCulloch Boulevard between Acoma Boulevard and Mulberry Avenue. It also includes permitting specific signage in the area and suspending applicable provisions of the City Code for the duration of the pilot program.
The Downtown Association requested additional time to pilot the parking in common signage portion of the program. Approved signage may be posted at the expense of the property owner within improved and well-maintained Parking-In-Common areas within the Downtown Association boundaries.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Partnering with local organizations for the benefit of the community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The costs to the City for enforcement will be absorbed into the Police Department and Development Services Department - Code Enforcement operating budgets.
