PURPOSE:
To make a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing, regarding a new application for an off-track pari-mutuel wagering license at Gallagher’s Dining & Pub, 3524 McCulloch Boulevard.
BACKGROUND:
Turf Paradise, applicant, submitted a letter of request for a new off-track pari-mutuel wagering license application at Gallagher’s Dining & Pub, located at 3524 McCulloch Boulevard. Turf Paradise’s Permit to Operate Additional Wagering Facilities with the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing, is valid through June 30, 2028. Turf Paradise is requesting the term of the license for Gallagher’s Dining & Pub be valid until May 31, 2028.
Council previously approved an off-track pari-mutuel wagering license to Turf Paradise for Gallagher’s Dining & Pub from June 1, 2015, through May 31, 2018.
This application was reviewed internally with the following comments:
Development Services Department/Zoning:
No objections. No outstanding violations or issues with this property. Permitted use in the General Commercial (C-2) District. The property is located within the Entertainment District.
Administrative Services Department:
No objections.
Fire Department:
No objections.
Police Department:
No objections.
Upon City Council’s recommendation, this application will be forwarded to the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing, for final processing.
