SUBJECT:Title

Discussion and Presentation: Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Update (Sarah Lojewski)

Body

FUNDING SOURCE:

State Planning and Research (SPR)

PURPOSE:

To present an update on the Lake Havasu Metropolitan Planning Organization (LHMPO) Regional Transportation Plan including an overview of the study, purpose, current work completed to-date, and next steps.

BACKGROUND:

Kimley-Horn is working with LHMPO and its member agencies to develop the 2050 Regional Transportation Plan, an update to the previous RTP adopted in 2022. The RTP will guide LHMPO’s transportation investments for the next 25 years and will solidify the region’s strategy for creating a regional transportation system that serves all modes of travel and abilities. The RTP update kicked off in May of 2025 and is estimated to conclude in August of 2026.

COMMUNITY IMPACT:

The resulting recommendations from the RTP aim to improve safety, mobility, and access for residents and visitors via all modes of travel. Recommendations are developed through data-driven analysis and extensive public input.

FISCAL IMPACT:

RTP will establish a fiscally constrained implementation plan that aligns with planned transportation investments. The resulting implementation plan will help member agencies prioritize transportation investments, identify funding gaps, and position the region to pursue grant funding.
