Discussion and Action: Ratification of Terminal Apron Use Agreement for Temporary Office Buildings at the Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport with Velocity Havasu Holdings, LLC (Ron Foggin)

PURPOSE:
To consider ratifying a terminal apron use agreement with Velocity Havasu Holdings, LLC, to allow the temporary erection of portable office buildings on the terminal apron for use by the military.
BACKGROUND:
Velocity Havasu Holdings, LLC, requested authorization to place four temporary portable office buildings on a designated Airport property located on the terminal apron between the main terminal and the maintenance office. The temporary buildings will be utilized as office space and are intended to support operations associated with the United States military.
The Agreement authorizes Velocity Havasu Holdings, LLC, to place the following portable office buildings within the designated area:
• Office Building 1 - 32 feet by 20 feet, approximately 640 square feet
• Office Building 2 - 16 feet by 20 feet, approximately 320 square feet
• Office Building 3 - 8 feet by 20 feet, approximately 160 square feet
• Office Building 4 - 8 feet by 20 feet, approximately 160 square feet
The total area associated with the temporary buildings is approximately 1280 square feet.
The Agreement allows the temporary office buildings to be used only by the United States military. Any other use or sublease requires prior written approval from the City.
This Agreement does not amend or replace any existing Fixed Base Operator or other Airport agreement held by Velocity Havasu Holdings, LLC.
Due to the timing associated with the placement of the temporary buildings and the operational needs of the intended military use, the Agreement was executed prior to formal City Council approval. It is therefore requested that the City Council ratify the execution of the Agreement.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Ratification of the agreement supports continued aviation-related activity at Lake Havasu City Municipal Airport and supports the needs of the United States military operations.
