PURPOSE:
To consider adoption of a resolution adopting the amended Title VI Plan for Lake Havasu City Transit.
BACKGROUND:
As required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, “No person in the United States shall on the grounds of race, color or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.” Lake Havasu City Transit has amended the Title VI Plan as required by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to be updated every three years. The current update is limited to revisions to the census data; no other changes have been made to the Plan.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
The adoption of this updated plan provides Lake Havasu City with the ability to receive federal funding for our transit program that benefits our residents and users of our transit system.
