SUBJECT:Title
Discussion and Action: Cooperative Purchase of Factory Built Park Restroom Building for the Channel Restroom Project from CXT Precast Products, Inc. (Philip Porter)
Body
FUNDING SOURCE:
Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) - General Fund
PURPOSE:
To consider the cooperative purchase of a Factory Built Park Restroom Building for the Channel Restroom Project from CXT Precast Products, Inc. (Oracle Contract 500804) utilizing Sourcewell’s cooperative contract 052725, in accordance with City Code §§ 3.10.010.3(A)(1) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
The project area has relied on portable restrooms for several years, resulting in ongoing operational costs, frequent servicing requirements, and inconsistent user experience. To provide a permanent, cost-effective solution, City staff analyzed various construction delivery methods. A factory-built restroom building was selected as the preferred option due to its reduced construction duration, predictable costs, improved quality control, and minimized disruption to the site, while meeting the City’s standards for durability and maintenance.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Our parks and channel areas are heavily utilized by community members and visitors. The new channel restrooms will replace temporary facilities with a permanent solution that improves cleanliness, accessibility, and overall quality of the space, contributing to a safer and more welcoming environment.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $234,860.47 are allocated and available for the Channel Restroom Project in the Fiscal Year 2025-26 CIP utilizing General Funds.
