PURPOSE:
To consider approval of a purchase greater than the City Manager’s expenditure threshold from Educational Furnishings of Arizona, LLC, dba Arizona Furnishings (City Contract No. 500877) utilizing Arizona State Cooperative Contract CTR067398-1 for furniture products and services for the Police Facility in accordance with City Code §§ 3.10.010.3(A)(1) and 3.10.030.1.
BACKGROUND:
In July 2026, City Council approved the award for Phase 2 of the Police Department Facility and Jail Rehabilitation Project, which is currently underway. This rehabilitation project includes drywall repairs, interior painting, and replacement of flooring that was installed when the facility was originally constructed in 1994. Since operating out of this location, the Records and Dispatch areas have been updated with new flooring and furnishings, but the remainder of the facility remains untouched.
This council communication requests approval for the purchase of furniture for the Patrol, Investigations, and Administration areas of the facility. In addition to the furnishings, the attached quote includes installation of all items as well as the breakdown and removal of the current furnishings deemed unfit for internal transfer or surplus auction resale.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Replacement of furnishings in the Police Facility will enhance safety, improve functionality, and support effective operations across all work groups in the department while providing adequate workstations for staff well into the future.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $500,877.43 are allocated and available in the Fiscal Year 2026-27 Police Department General Fund budget.
