PURPOSE:
To consider adopting a resolution ratifying the submission of an application for a Juvenile Crime Reduction Fund (JCRF) grant for the program development or enhancements solutions for prevention, intervention, and/or recidivism reduction of juvenile crime. This proposal includes treatment and urinalysis testing in the amount not to exceed $104,390.
BACKGROUND:
The Juvenile Crime Reduction Fund (JCRF) is established pursuant to A.R.S. § 41-2401(D)(5) and is allocated to the Supreme Court for the development and successful implementation of statewide community-based proposals for reducing juvenile crime in Arizona. Proposals may be programs, projects, practices, and/or activities.
COMMUNITY IMPACT:
Strengthening treatment and testing programs of juveniles will enhance the safety of our community.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Juvenile Crime Reduction Fund (JCRF) grant funds in the amount of up to $104,390 for one year. There is no matching fund requirement for the City nor an obligation to continue the services.

SUGGESTED MOTION:Recommended Action
I move to adopt Resolution No. 25-3839 ratifying the submission of a grant application to the Arizona Supreme Court, Juvenile Crime Reduction Fund, for Youth Court Treatment and Testing Services; and authorizing City staff to execute subsequent grant agreements, deliver all documents necessary to carry out the terms and intent of the grant, and take all steps necessary to implement and complete the activities funded and required by the grant subject to necessary review and approval by the City Attorney.
